-- Truck Springs --
Truck Springs are known with many different names such as Commercial Vehicle Springs (HGV) Lorry Springs, leaf spring, carriage or laminated spring, cart spring or semi-elliptical spring. It gets the appearance of a curved length of spring-steel having rectangle shaped section. The mid part of this arc is attached to the axle, and tie holes at either ends are included for connecting to the automobile structure. If it is to be made for very heavy and light commercial vehicles, a leaf-spring is manufactured from multiple leaves piled up on the top of each other, with increasing shorter leaves. A leaf spring serves the locating function and to some degree dampness as well as springing function. The fitting of interleaf rubber or other fabrics also offers a damping action, but if it is not well controlled can leads to stickiness in the movement of the suspension.
Truck springs can either be connected right at both ends of the chassis, with eyes and pins or fixed at one end only, mostly the front with other end sliding through the shackle. This shackle gains the ability of leaf springs to extend when condensed, which ultimately makes a perfect alternative for softer springiness. Previously, there were also spring designs that terminated in concave ends (known as spoon end) to hold a spinning member.
